Photography Holidays

We are proud to introduce Paul Sansome, a professional landscape and wildlife photographer based near Winchester in Hampshire, England. Paul is our photography tutor for our Sardinia photography holiday and he is joining us for the first time in 2008. Below, the photo is of Paul at the "Landscape Photographer of the Year" Exhibition, National Theatre, London.

Photography Holidays

One of Paul's photographs, "Windsurfer in Force 9", has been awarded a runners-up prize in the AA 2007 Photographer of the Year competition. This major competition had Bill Bryson, Charlie Waite and Ben Fogle amongst the judges. As well as the monetary award the photograph will also be on display in the associated exhibition in the National Theatre, London, and will feature in a high quality book published by the AA.

Sardinia features some of the most outstandingly scenic locations which invite the photographer to come and capture some of their qualities. There will be plenty of time for group tutorials and also for one-on-one sessions with Paul during the course of the week. However, as well as helping you to improve your photography there is also great emphasis on providing a fun and carefree holiday.

Group sizes are kept down to ten so you are assured easy access to the tutor. All levels of expertise are catered for and you don't have to be an expert to get the most out of our photography holiday. This holiday caters for traditional film and all the new digital formats. In addition to the photographic side of the holiday we will provide a real insight into Sardinia - culture, history, landscape and gastronomy - allowing you opportunities for genuine interaction with the local people.

We select our hotels based on comfort, location, food and charm with en-suite facilities. All our meals are taken as a group and we are served traditional local home cooking which is prepared daily using only the finest, freshest local ingredients and with what is in season. The wine is plentiful and is the perfect accompaniment to the local cuisine. Photography Holidays

Sardinia is especially beautiful in autumn and spring, when the island is less crowded, is truly stunning and is still blessed with good weather with the average daily temperatures between 20-25°C and with 7-11 hours of daily sunshine. We will take you by mini coach to carefully planned sites, according to the weather, time of day and lighting conditions - to get you half way to decent photos before you've even stepped off the bus!

Our hassle-free, all inclusive land packages include all meals, including wine and water with dinner, accommodation, photography tuition, land transportation, entrance fees (to sites included in the itinerary), and transfers to and from Alghero airport or Alghero town on arrival and departure days. Simply put, leave the arrangements to us so that you can spend more time enjoying yourself!

Our many repeat guests and the high marks we score on our feedback forms tell us that we consistently deliver high calibre holidays at a great value for money prices. But don’t just take our word for it… see for yourself what our guests have been saying about us, please click here...

Many thanks for all your hard work to make my week in Sardinia so enjoyable. I really had a great time, learnt a lot, gained a lot of confidence that I can become (with a lot more practice) a reasonable artist, and made some new friends who I hope to meet again on a future painting holiday. It really was a holiday that ended far too soon, so mille grazie once again.

Buona fortuna with all your future projects.

Paul Sansome

The inspiration for Paul’s photography comes from a love of both the tranquillity and wildness of nature. Paul enjoys the challenge and the physical endurance required to take pictures in the wildest landscapes of Britain, such as the Scottish Highlands, however at the same time he is a very conscious that many of his most successful images have been photographed much closer to home. Whatever the location and the hard work, Paul always finds a great sense of satisfaction when he views the images for the first time.

Most of the photography on Paul’s website is performed with a traditional SLR camera using 35mm slide film. However, since September 2006 he has also been shooting with a digital camera and some of these shots are also on the website. Whilst embracing some of the benefits of digital manipulation, Paul feels ethically committed to presenting a scene in the way in which he really saw it. more...

I just wanted to say thank you so very much to you and John for your wonderful hospitality! I thought you both put so much into it and worked so hard that I couldn't let it pass without saying a big thankyou to you both.

I thoroughly enjoyed the week with you, and your personal attention made it the best painting holiday I've been on. The hotel was lovely and Marisa also made us very welcome, as did your parents when we visited their vineyard.

Once again, many thanks and maybe we'll meet up next year.

Our Prices:

Our holiday price includes all meals, including wine and water with dinner, accommodation, photography tuition, land transportation, entrance fees (to sites included in the itinerary), and transfers to and from the airport on arrival and departure days. Flights and travel insurance are NOT included in our price.

REMEMBER THERE ARE NO SINGLE SUPPLEMENTS AND NO SINGLE SHARING ON ANY OF OUR HOLIDAYS!

John & Maria’s organising skills and attention to detail meant that nothing was left to chance and so this plus their friendliness and assistance, if needed, made this painting holiday a relaxing experience. All I had to do was enjoy the excellent food, wine and good company – oh, and of course the painting. Being an all inclusive holiday, this was very good value for money.

Best wishes for the future.
Keep in touch.
