Cooking Holidays

An Old Italian proverb says: ‘a tavola non s’invecchia’ - you won’t age at the dining table. Enjoying food and wine in good company is a pillar of Italian culture and plays a very important part in daily life. Italians live to eat while the rest of the world eats to live still rings true today. Our cooking holidays are not all about cooking; they provide a perfect opportunity for you to get an authentic taste of what this region has to offer

Cooking Holidays

Our fun and informative immersion style cooking holidays will highlight regional dishes, locally produced cheeses, olive oils and wines and include excursions to the surrounding areas to enhance your learning experience. Traditional home cooking is taught in a friendly and familiar environment covering the most popular dishes of Sardinia and Italy. True to the Sardinian way of eating, the meals prepared will focus on what is fresh and in season.

Traditional cooking in Sardinia has been inherited from shepherds, farmers and fishermen: it is not an elaborated cuisine, instead based on essential flavours in the primary ingredients complemented by spontaneous aromatic herbs.

The four small, intimate hands-on classes will ensure you receive plenty of personal attention during the two – three hours of cooking instruction. Our classes are for a maximum of 10 people and no prior cooking skills are needed. The holiday is designed to include a mix of basic “hands-on” practical sessions, structured tastings, visits to local producers and relaxing excursions to places of interest. They are designed to create memories that you will be able to relive again and again in your own kitchen.

We select our hotels based on comfort, location, food and charm with en-suite facilities. All our meals are taken as a group and we are served traditional local home cooking which is prepared daily using only the finest, freshest local ingredients and with what is in season. The wine is plentiful and is the perfect accompaniment to the local cuisine. Cooking Holidays

Sardinia is especially beautiful in autumn and spring, when the island is less crowded, is truly stunning and is still blessed with good weather with the average daily temperatures between 20-25°C and with 7-11 hours of daily sunshine. There is also a wide range of activities for non-cooking partners and friends to enjoy: wine tasting, language classes, horse riding and self-guided walking – many at no extra cost.

Our hassle-free, all inclusive land packages include all meals, including wine and water with dinner, accommodation, cooking tuition, land transportation, entrance fees (to sites included in the itinerary, including tastings), and transfers to and from Alghero airport or Alghero town on arrival and departure days. Simply put, leave the arrangements to us so that you can spend more time enjoying yourself!

Our many repeat guests and the high marks we score on our feedback forms tell us that we consistently deliver high calibre holidays at a great value for money prices. But don’t just take our word for it… see for yourself what our guests have been saying about us, please click here...

We were provided with an opportunity to see how Sardinians cook in their own homes which must be a rare experience on a cooking holiday.

The holiday suceeded in providing a range of cooking and other food related activities as well as a taste of Sardinia. Your willingness to please and accommodate your guests was faultless and it felt like we were your personal guests. I just wanted to say thank you so very much to you and John for your wonderful hospitality! I thought you both put so much into it and worked so hard that I couldn't let it pass without saying a big thankyou to you both.

I thoroughly enjoyed the week with you, and your personal attention made it the best painting holiday I've been on. The hotel was lovely and Marisa also made us very welcome, as did your parents when we visited their vineyard.

Once again, many thanks and maybe we'll meet up next year.
